The Austin Brass Center is pleased to announce the 2008 Summer Brass Institute to be conducted June 8-14, 2008 on the campus of Hill Country Middle School in Austin, TX. The Summer Brass Institute is an intensive, six-day seminar dedicated to developing students’ brass playing techniques and brass ensemble playing. This camp is open to only incoming high school freshmen through graduating seniors. We are excited to be hosted by the Westlake Band Parents Inc.
The intention of this brass camp is to provide students an opportunity to study brass playing techniques, learn brass literature and improve their playing abilities under the tutelage of professional educators, musicians, and high-profile guest artists. Our staff has extensive experience in brass teaching and has worked with some of the best brass teachers and players in the world. The knowledge of the staff and faculty will provide an invaluable service to the institute’s participants.
Please note: Auditions for the chamber ensembles will be on
June 8th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Summer Brass Institute will be in full swing on June 9th beginning at 8:30 a.m.
