The Austin Brass Quintet is the faculty ensemble in residence of the Austin Brass Center.

It is the intent of the organization to promote music education in the public schools through providing concerts at a professional level and contributing to the education of the young, budding musicians of Texas.  By providing an opportunity for public and private school students to experience a performance of a professional brass quintet, the ABQ enhances the curriculum in their education of music by teaching both the technical and historical aspects of music performance to their audiences.

Founded in 2003, the Austin Brass Quintet is a professional ensemble founded with the goal of presenting brass chamber music in an educational/outreach atmosphere.  The ABQ’s repertoire ranges from J.S. Bach to Bernstein, Pops to Jazz, the Renaissance to the Avant-Garde.  We are committed to excellence and hope to share the beauty of art with your students through brass music.

The members of ABQ are all accomplished individual musicians who have won or placed highly in numerous local, national, and international competitions.  All of ABQ’s members actively perform and instruct in some of this nation’s finest music ensembles and schools.  The formation of these five musicians into one musical force is a spectacular combination.
